HOW TO SIZE A GARAGE HEATER TO YOUR SPACE

Step 1. Select the heating zone your space is located in

Step 2. Select the voltage required for your heater
(120V, 208V, 240V, 277V or 480V)

If you’re replacing an old heater, the new heater needs to be the same voltage. Check the product label of the old heater for the correct voltage rating.

For a new installation check your supply voltage with a voltage meter or consult with a licensed electrician. We generally recommend a 240 volt heater and installing a new, dedicated 240 volt circuit for the heater.

NEVER ASSUME you know the right voltage. Be 100% sure you’re getting the correct voltage heater.

Step 3: Select a Single-Phase or Three-Phase Heater

If you’re replacing an old heater, the new heater’s phasing should match. Check the product label of the old heater to verify the phasing.

In general Residential homes are served by a single-phase power supply, while commercial and industrial facilities usually use a three-phase supply.

Step 4. Select the insulation values that best describes the insulation used in your space

* Insulation is rated for a specific R-Value, which is the industry standards for insulation effectiveness.

Step 5. Enter the ceiling height, length and width of your space.

Step 6. Purchase a heater that meets your needs.
